Balancing Luxury and ValueMy recent week-long stay at Esencia Hostel in Oaxaca provided a mixed experience, blending the essence of budget travel with essential comforts. Strategically located just across from the ADO bus terminal, the hostel's convenience is ideal for fleeting trips, especially if you're arriving late at night. The dormitory rooms, while clean and equipped with comfortable beds, let in excessive light and noise from the surrounding area, even with earplugs. I found that two nights would suffice, unlike my extended stay. A notable drawback was the lack of room cleaning; I requested clean towels halfway through my stay, but that felt like an uphill battle. Nevertheless, the hostel fosters a friendly atmosphere with a small number of beds, enabling easy social interactions without a dedicated common area. The neighborhood, adorned with art, complements the experience, especially with convenient access to economical dining options. Ultimately, Esencia Hostel proves useful for transient travelers seeking economical accommodations with basic comforts.
